What do we learn? Not moral lessons - those are for children. We learn to recognize our personal dragon, the one guarding the treasure we don't know we deserve. We learn that every hero's journey is the journey home, to a home we didn't remember ever leaving.

And what do we return? The only possible legacy: the ability to transform pain into myth, fear into adventure, solitude into epic. We become narrators of ourselves, wizards of our own existence.
